So the 2011 season draws to a close and it certainly has been a long and busy one !
With Ryan (Action Packed) taking a year out from teams,which he has been saved for for the last 2 yrs and stepping up to Advanced he has certainly proved his capability with a great round at the Festival of Eventing at Gatcombe,following up good 2* runs at Somerley & Barbury.Next year we hope to follow the CIC*** series with him.
Zilver has certainly been the new star stepping up to Intermediate easily following a great win at Barbury and then followed up again by winning the OIu21 at Pontispool.Now not far off Advanced he has it all in all 3 disciplines plus a huge personality ! He certainly has the ingredients of a medal winning horse
Sue Larson's Artistiek is a very exciting horse to follow for next year.He only started eventing 3 months ago and already has 12 points to his name.Unfortunately Aldon was too big an ask for him at this early stage of his career and he got confused by the skinnies in the waters but his time will come as he really very special.
Metroville started the season off with great form but a minor injury put him on the sidelines for the remainder which was unfortunate but he will come back next season no doubt stronger & more mature.He is really lovely genuine horse with a great ( & understanding !) owner.
Inevitabily to keep us going some good horses have had to be sold & people always ask us why we are not keeping that particular horse.We buy very much a certain type and like to known for only selling top quality.It has been wonderful to see such horses going on to do so well this season such as Pioneer Silvie (winning at Weston CCI* u18),Onno (reserve for Junior Team) & Little Miss Sunshine (Member of Junior Team in Portugal) and it gives us huge pleasure to see them going on.
We have 2 very exciting youngsters for next spring .Cyres and Mr Seductive who will be 5yr olds starting out in their careers plus the very exciting new addition Atlanta who is a 6yr old imported from France by William & Alice Fox-Pitt.
So enjoying a bit of down time while most of the horses are enjoying a well earned holiday,Millie having a week out to sunnier climes in November.Then it all begins again !
